A statement from the police
The HSR Layout traffic officers explain that the victim did not respond to their calls. “We are trying to contact him so he can get to the station to file an official complaint, but he is not reachable. We cannot take any action against the auto-rickshaw driver till a complaint is filed,” he said. Quoted Deccan Herald.
However, it is unclear whether the alleged victim hail the auto-rickshaw using a ride-hailing app or was looking for an alternative mode of transportation, such as a bike ride, to avoid using the auto-rickshaw.
The police also noted that the conflict between Auto drivers and riders of Rapido bikes is not new. Auto drivers have been calling for a ban on Rapido bikes in protest. Numerous attacks on Rapido bike riders have occurred.
