Taapsee Pannu has always been vocal about her opinions on social issues and whatsoever is happening in the country. And now, Taapsee has indirectly taken a dig at how people have started trending #Boycott every time something new comes along which doesn’t align with their mindset.
Taapsee wrote, “Aajkal toh kuch hashtag boycott nahi hota toh lagta hai kuch toh gadhbadh hai. New Twitter wala India hai yeh. (Nowadays, if something is not met with the hashtag boycott, it seems like something is wrong. This is the new-age Twitter India.)” Her tweet was indirectly referring to the Tanishq ad that was ridiculed heavily on social media.

Tanishq pulled its latest ad featuring a Hindu woman and her Muslim mother-in-law off all online platforms after facing major backlash on social media, which saw #BoycottTanishq trending on Twitter.
Soon after Taapsee shared her opinions, it was no surprise that haters attacked her and even reminded her of Thappad releasing again. They went on to ridicule her and even threatened to boycott her.

Meanwhile, in a statement, Tanishq, which is a division of the Tata Group’s Titan Company, said, “The idea behind the Ekatvam campaign is to celebrate the coming together of people from different walks of life, local communities and families during these challenging times and celebrate the beauty of oneness. This film has stimulated divergent and severe reactions, contrary to its very objective. We are deeply saddened with the inadvertent stirring of emotions and withdraw this film keeping in mind the hurt sentiments and well being of our employees, partners, and store staff.
Well! This looks debatable and controversial. Taapsee Panu has challenged a lot of Indians in her statement. What’s your take on this matter?
