Shankar Nag, the undisputed idol of still crores of people across the state, is one personality who inspires people from all walks of life, be it from the auto-rickshaw drivers on the streets of Bengaluru to the budding filmmakers and actors in Karnataka and beyond.
The legendary figure has been an influential figure in the journey that R Gautham Iyer has been through so far to get his work featured on the big screen. Gautham is the director of Sandalwood’s upcoming neo-noir drama Vrithra.
Here is what Gautham had to say about his reverence for the matinee superstar.
“Shankar Nag is my idol and I’ve always wanted my first film to somehow be associated with his name.”
Well, it seems Gautham’s wish has come true as Vrithra has now become the first Kannada movie ever to get a premier show at the legendary Fame Shankar Nag Chithramandira on MG Road.
It is indeed a proud moment for the makers to own such a distinction at one of the most popular yesteryear theatres in Bangaluru. In fact, earlier known as Symphony, this theatre is the only existing ‘Fab-4’ theatre in that area of the city after Rex on Brigade Road was pulled down last year.
Having already made a name for its captivating trailer, Vrithra is making the right noise as it arrives at the theatres on October 11th. Ace-photographer Auditya Venkatesh has worked as the cinematographer for Vrithra while talented actors such as Nithya Shri, Sudha Rani, and Prakash Belawadi will be seen in prominent roles in the movie.
The bookings for this movie have already been opened and if you are planning for an outing this weekend, Vrithra seems to be an awesome option to get yourselves thoroughly entertained.
