Reliefs Across A Few Sectors From 20th April. Here Is All You Need To Know

Lockdown

India is currently in the second phase of the lockdown which is due to end on May 3rd. In his briefing to the country, PM Modi had revealed that there could be certain relaxations in the lockdown in a few areas from April 20th. This will be done for regions that are not hotspots, and taking into consideration, the general trend of COVID-19 in the surroundings.

Based on the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, here are the major relaxations across sectors in India from April 20th.

Goods Vehicles will be allowed to move

All Trains, Flights, and Buses would be allowed for the transport of goods and cargo items from April 20th. Highway Dhaba’s and Truck-repair shops can also open their services from the coming Monday.

Relaxation of Personal Movement

Personal vehicles can now be utilized in case of medical emergencies. While in a 4-wheeler, only two would be allowed, pillion riders are not allowed in 2-wheelers.

Coaching Services can resume

With the compulsory use of masks, Coaching services can resume. Postal services, Oil and Gas, Water & Telecom services can start functioning too.

Agriculture and related activities

Agriculture and related activities can be resumed while making sure that social distancing norms are strictly followed. Fishery, Coffee-Tea Estates, and Poultry could restart operation too.

Liquor and Tobacco

The sale of liquor and Tobacco is strictly disallowed.

Information Services

While Media can continue its services, IT Companies can operate at a 50% workforce. Government Offices, E-Commerce Services, Hotel & Home-Stays can start functioning.

Strict Norms in Public Spots

Not more than 5 would be allowed to stay together at one spot. Masks and Social-Distancing to be compulsory in Public Spots.

Industries

All Industries involved in the production of essential goods and related to agriculture can start their operations.
