According to sources close to the development, Mahesh Babu’s character in SS Rajamouli’s upcoming film is inspired by Lord Hanuman. Rajamouli is well-known for creating films that are deeply rooted in Indian culture and frequently draws inspiration from the Ramayana and Mahabharata. Despite the fact that the film is set in an African jungle, Mahesh Babu’s character will be reminiscent of Lord Hanuman, who has a history of fighting against all odds in the jungle. Furthermore, the character’s journey will be similar to that of the Ramayana, but with Rajamouli’s own twist, reports TOI.

Inspired by Mythology

SS Rajamouli has previously used the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Amar Chitrakatha as sources of inspiration for his artistic creations. The filmmaker was raised on these epic stories and loves to portray them in his films, which is evident in his previous film, RRR, which starred Jr. NTR and Ram Charan as Bheem and Lord Ram, respectively. The cast and crew are currently working on the script of SSMB 29, and they hope to start shooting by the end of the year. According to sources, the film, which is expected to be among the most expensive in Indian cinema, will be primarily shot in the Amazon Forest.

Speaking about the film Rajamouli told India Today, “I wanted to do an adventurous film on the lines of Indiana Jones for a long time and I felt it was the right time to do this.”

The upcoming jungle adventure is planned to be made by an international studio. The film will have extensive VFX work that will be done in LA. The most recent information shows that another global powerhouse is also competing for the opportunity, contrary to earlier reports that suggested Disney might fund the project. Sources claim that Sony Pictures is in negotiations to buy the SS Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu movie. Disney and Sony appear to be in competition because both companies have promised to give the renowned director first-rate technical support.
