If Taliban Kills me, Will Consider It My ‘Seva’: Last Hindu Priest In Kabul Refuses To Flee

 Since Taliban took over Afghanistan,the country has become a graveyard and has raised concerns over the future of Afghani people in the country.Many countries are trying to evacuate their citizens while leaving the people of Afghanistan to their fate.

However a rare incident happened where Pandit Rajesh Kumar, the last Hindu priest of the Rattan Nath temple, refused to leave the country despite being offered help.The priest reportedly said that he could not leave the temple as his ancestors had served the mandir for hundreds of years.

Who Is This Hindu Pandit?

He is reportedly a priest in a Hindu temple in Afghanistan and has been working their for years and he refused to escape from the current situation of the country.

“Pandit Rajesh Kumar, the priest of Rattan Nath Temple in Kabul said, “Some Hindus have urged me to leave Kabul & offered to arrange for my travel and stay. But my ancestors served this Mandir for hundreds of years. I will not abandon it. If Taliban kills me, I consider it my Seva”, a Twitter user @BhardwajSpeaks shared his story on the micro-blogging site.

People Trying To Evade Afghanistan

Desperation was evident at Kabul’s Hamid Karzai Airport on Monday as people clung to the side of moving military planes.Yesterday, 10 people, including 2 Afghans who clung to a US Air Force plane to escape Taliban rule, lost their lives in a melee at the Kabul airport, as hundreds of people scrambled to board flights to escape the Taliban.

Today morning at around 11:30am Indian Airforce plane landed in Gujarat taking more than 150 Indian passengers from Afghanistan including the Indian Ambassador Rudrendra Tandon,after taking a long route flight from the Hamid Karzai Airport Kabul airport, avoiding the skies of Afghanistan and neighbouring Pakistan.

The condition in the country is worsening day by day and still some are clinging to their religious ethos relented to their old traditions and mortgaging lives in the name of the almighty.If this continues there is no point blaming afterwards the country and its government of not taking proper measures.What to conclude this as?
