Kempegowda RL, a farmer from Tumkuru in Karnataka has received a brand new Mahindra Bolero and an apology from the Mahindra group as well.
A few weeks ago this incident went viral, where Kempegowda and his friends were humiliated by the officials in the Mahindra Showroom due to their appearance. The showroom officials mocked them saying, “They will not have even 10 Rs in their pocket, how will they afford a 10 lakh Rs. SUV?”.
The challenge
The showroom officials also threw a challenge that if they arrange Rs.10 lakh in 30 minutes, they will personally deliver the SUV. KempeGowda accepted the challenged and stood by it but the officials failed to give results. The issue flared up and went viral on the internet, so much so, it even reached Mr. Anand Mahindra.

With this, a week later, the Mahindra Group has written an apology to him for the incident and provided an update on the same on their Twitter handle.
“As promised, we have taken appropriate measures and the matter is now resolved. We would like to thank Mr. Kempegowda for choosing to be with us and welcome him into the Mahindra Family,” the company tweeted.

The Mahindra group chairperson also had a message for the customer: “And let me add my welcome to Mr. Kempegowda,” he said.

The farmer has received the SUV, Mahindra Bolera that he went to buy from the showroom.
