For the Sake of criticizing PM Modi, Swara Bhasker takes a dig at ‘Hindutva’

On May 28, actor-cum-activist Swara Bhasker slammed the citizens of the country to elect Narendra Modi as PM. In a cryptic post, she shared the picture of PM Modi with Hindu Saints on one side and the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) controversy on the other side.

WFI controversy

Recently, Famous Indian wrestlers such as Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik, Sumit Mallik, and Bajrang Punia have been protesting at New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for the past few days. It all started when CWG gold medalist Vinesh Phogat made the shocking claim that WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has been harassing female wrestlers for years, and a major controversy erupted.

The protests were temporarily halted after Singh, a member of Modi’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party, was relieved of all administrative powers by India’s Sports Ministry.

The wrestlers started their protest again on April 23rd, demanding Singh’s arrest, and have since camped near the new Parliament building, which Modi dedicated yesterday.

Things got ugly when several of India’s top wrestlers were detained by police as they intensified their protest demanding strict action against the sport’s President over sexual harassment.

Sakshi Malik, the Olympic bronze medalist in the women’s 58 kilograms freestyle at Rio 2016, shared photos and a video of the wrestlers being dragged away by police on social media.

PM Modi at newly constructed Parliament

Speaking about the ongoing violence against Indian wrestlers, the most controversial woman Swara Bhasker took a dig at PM Modi for ignoring the Indian wrestlers and focusing more on Hindutva conventions.

PM Modi performed a traditional ‘pooja’ with Vedic rituals at the newly constructed Parliament. He met a lot of Indian sages and also placed the historic Sengol following a complex puja.

This however did not go down well with the Indian Actress who took a sharp dig at PM. In a Tweet, Swara Bhasker shared the picture of PM Modi with Hindu Saints on one side and the Indian Wrestlers getting beaten up on the other side. “Here you go India. Here’s what we voted for!” the caption read.

Tonnes of reactions came along with the post. Mant however decided to troll Swara for heralding her personal problems.
