Kangana Ranaut isn’t afraid to call out people on social media. From celebrities to politicians to trolls, the actress often takes to her social media handle to call out anyone who says anything that she does not deem fit. The actress has been in news for the demolition of her house cum residence in Mumbai by the BMC. The actress had called Mumbai ‘Pakistan-occupied Kashmir’ in one of her tweets. Her comment was followed by a notice by the BMC and the demolition of her property.
The Bombay High Court announced their verdict yesterday and stated that the demotion was a ‘premeditated action’ by the BMC. A report in Times Now further stated that Bombay HC said, “We have come to the conclusion that the building of Kangana Ranaut was an existing construction. The petitioner should exercise restraint while airing views on public platforms. However, irresponsible comments made by a citizen are best ignored by a State. No action by state for such follies of a citizen can lie except in accordance with the law.”
After the verdict, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar took a jibe at Kangana and went on to call her ‘do takke ke log’. In a video shared by news agency ANI, the mayor said that everyone is surprised how an actress, who lives in Himachal Pradesh, can address Mumbai as PoK. Moreover, she went on to address Kangana as ‘do takke ke log.’
It has further been reported that the mayor will be holding a meeting with the BMC legal team to access the Bombay High Court’s order in Kangana’s case. She said, “What we did was according to municipal rules. I haven’t seen court order, will go through it.”
