CCD Founder VG Siddhartha’s Father Passes Away, Funeral Took Place In Chikmagalur

Months after Cafe Coffee Day founder VG Siddharth’s demise, his father passes away at the age of 96. Gangaiah Hegde died at a private hospital in Mysuru and the funeral was performed at 11 am (Monday) in his village at Chikmagalur.

Father of CCD founder dies at 96

Gangaiah Hegde who was a coffee plant owner was admitted to Gopala Gowda Shanthaveri Memorial Hospital in Mysuru for his continued illness. Unaware of his son’s death, he was in a coma for a prolonged period and couldn’t participate in his son’s cremation.

The report says his mortal remains were brought to his village in Chikamanglur and the final rites and rituals took place at the family estate in Gauthahalli village.

Loyal to his father

Before Siddhartha committed suicide, he visited his father in Mysuru hospital to check his conditions. It is said that the coffee baron was in tears seeing his father’s condition. He as a loyal son had learned good qualities from his father. He loved his father and carried a special bond for him.

He made his father proud in all aspects. He was not interested in looking after the coffee estate and managed to convince his father to have faith in his goals. And in return, he did not disappoint him and became the greatest businessman of all time.

Because of the special relationship with his father, Siddharth was very discouraged seeing him ill and in a motionless condition. Although he had a financial crisis to handle, poor condition of his father added made Siddhartha feel even more depressed. VG Siddhartha went missing near a bridge over Netravati on 29th July. It was on 31st July his dead body was recovered after 36 hours of a search operation.
