A Man gives a leg-up to exercising the right to vote
Zakir Pasha, a resident of Kagaznagar in Asifabad district, he has no hands, but that didn’t stop him from exercising his right to vote. On April 11, he went to cast his vote using his foot. While the turnout was low in Telangana, especially Hyderabad and Secunderabad, this physically challenged voter’s determination to exercise his right to vote was celebrated by people.
The staff at the polling booth, where Zakir Pasha voted for the Adilabad constituency, were pleasantly surprised. He lifted his left leg on the table for polling staff to ink his toe, Moreover, he also signed using his left toe. He used his toe to press the button and voted for the candidate of his choice. “It is our right to vote and I exercised it. It’s my responsibility,” Zakir told TOI.

This young man brings inspiration to many. If we are worried about our future and the future of our country, then all of us must cast our votes. ‘Voting’ is not only our ‘Right’.
