Razak, who is associated with Mercy Angels, shared his experience with Bangalore Mirror and said he wants to help people during this time. “The little girl from West Bengal had some kidney problems and so, she was admitted to St John’s hospital. Later, she turned covid-positive and was in the hospital for quite some time.

When we got a call from the volunteer group, I pitched in to go and complete the last rites of the deceased child. Her parents were also there with me and they were in shock. I went to the mortuary, picked up her body, and drove to the crematorium in an ambulance,” he added.

‘Emotions run high’
“I am from Kannur and have a tea shop in Frazer Town. I have been staying here for a long time and over the last few months, I have been noticing how people are struggling for their lives. If I get a call, I leave the shop, finish the last rites and come back to take a shower and return to work,” he said.
