Amid the ongoing crisis between Russia and Ukraine, USA has threatened India to impose sanctions on it. This sanctions are in the backdrop of the S-400 missile deal that India has signed with Russia also with India’s stance in the UN General Assembly.

The S-400 or the Triumf missiles that India is getting from Russia have been eyed by America. Keeping this in mind the US is putting India in its CAATSA sanctions according to a USA diplomat. The development also comes at a time when India faces flak from US lawmakers for abstaining from UNGA vote to condemn Russia. The US diplomat also noted that it would now be very hard for any country to buy weapon systems from Moscow as of now and in the future as well.
India has to handle the situation in a diplomatic manner and make sure it balances its way out of this by showcasing a mirror to the USA about how the situation can be handled better and what India is doing as well.
India should also consider the role played by it in the times to come as India is also surrounded by China which is in great relations with Russia.
