Puneeth Rajkumar is definitely an icon and when he passed away at the young age of 46, the people of Karnataka shook and today we see posters, cutouts, and banners of the legendary actor across the city.
But here is one cafe in Bengaluru located in Jayanagar called Bengaluru cafe which is paying its tributes to the actor by printing his image on the bills of the restaurant! This is their unique way to pay their respects to the actor who was an avid lover of food.
“This is our way of expressing how much we miss him. After much discussion with our vendors, we chose a picture that would not only print well on our thermal printer but also remain etched in the memory of people,” says Vikas, an engineer who returned from the US to set up the cafe.
It is reported that earlier the cashier tore the bill into two and gave it to the customers but now due to the image, the bill is punched and handed over to the customers. The customers are also told about the image and asked to not throw it away.
The customer prints about 150 bills on a daily basis with a footfall of about 1000 odd customers. Customers have also appreciated this new initiative.
The Bengaluru cafe is a very popular one, particularly in South Bengaluru, and makes delicious dishes like Dosa, Kesari Bath, Mangaluru Bajji, and so on which are very popular south Indian dishes.
