A pigeon, likely to be trained for spying by Pakistan, was reportedly captured by villagers of the Kathua District in Jammu & Kashmir on Monday. The district is located along the International Border in J&K.
The pigeon flew from the Pakistan side
The pigeon was captured by residents of Manyari village in the Hiranagar sector soon after it flew into this side from Pakistan. It is said that a ring was attached to the pigeon with some numbers on it.
Senior Superintendent of Police of Kathua Shailendra Mishra said: “The villagers handed over the pigeon (to the local police station) yesterday. A ring was seen attached to one of its legs with some numbers on it and a probe is on.” The officials have also added that the concerned security officials are working towards deciphering the coded message on the bird.
