The speculations started after Rishab Shetty and the team recently visited Mangaluru’s Annappa Panjurli Kola. The Kantara actor has a special request for the audience.
The story
Rishab Shetty’s Kantara remained unstoppable at the ticket windows. Successfully completing 50 days in theaters, the film saw a drop in the ninth-week post-OTT release. The Kannada film maintained four weekly records at the Indian box office starting. The film, which was released theatrically on September 30, 2022, has almost reached its closing worldwide collections.
Also, Kantara created history by becoming the highest-grosser of all time in Karnataka beating the giant KGF Chapter 2. Also, the film is the second biggest Sandalwood film of all time just behind KGF 2.
After seeing so much fame and outstanding success, the film will reportedly see its part 2 happening and the latest report states that it might come sooner than expected. But before this, Kantara star Rishab Shetty has asked people not to speculate anything about the film.
‘Stop Speculating things’
While interacting with Cinema Express, Rishab Shetty put an end to all such rumors. “Honestly, I am still finishing my duty with Kantara and I am yet to sit on my next project. Whatever we are planning to take up will not be a regular film; it needs a lot of time and needs severe research before we lock the script. It is a huge task,” says Rishab.
He further urges the audience to wait, and not go by the various speculations that are doing the rounds. “Whether it is Kantara 2 or any other project, we will come out with official details soon,” he said.
The speculations started after Rishab Shetty and producer Vijay Kiragandur’s recent visit to Mangaluru’s Annappa Panjurli Kola. It was also said that preparation work has already begun and that Rishab is talking to several South stars from other industries for collaboration. In fact, it was even rumored that the film will go on floors in September 2023.
About the temple visit, Rishab said, “It was a Harike (vow) only taken by our team to visit the temple, offer our prayers, and wholeheartedly thank god for the film’s success. It was an emotional and beautiful moment spent at the temple. Nothing more than that. Surprisingly, our visit led to a lot of opinions.”
Meanwhile, for Kantara 2, Rishab Shetty has also left his film ‘Bachelor Party’ directed by 777 Charlie fame Rakshit Shetty and none other than his co-star Diganth Manchale confirmed that Rishab has taken an exit from the film for the sequel of Kantara while talking to YouTuber Madhu Sudan Gowda.
