“Major throwback. This song is from a movie Hosa Jeevana, after the wrap up of the last schedule my co-star met with an accident and passed away, I was numb with shock for a long time to come..not to mention it went in history as a great hit but what a loss we suffered.”

Shankar Nag, the popular actor and filmmaker, met with an accident on the 30th of September 1990 at Anagodu on the outskirts of Davangere town. At that time, he was shooting for a film called Jokumaraswamy. Shankar Nag, apart from making films in the Kannada film industry, had also directed the popular show Malgudi days based on the book of the same name by RK Narayan.

“After so many years, I am back to acting again. I did Bala, and now I have got Sarojini Naidu on a platter. It is so different from what I have done so far. The only common thing between both the women is the letter ‘S’ and I think they both were very very strong. There’s a new life that is going to start after this. Sita ji is a part that is not going to go away anywhere from my life and I would like to play a lot more.”

Speaking about the kind of roles she would like to play and on any other films in the pipeline, she said,

“There have been a lot of talks going on besides Sarojini which was there in the pipeline and we made the announcement after we were clear with the script. Nothing has come up to me which is concrete so I can’t talk about it. After the lockdown, whatever happens, will happen.”
