Jitendra Kumar is making headlines right now for his recently released sequel Panchayat Season 2. TVF comedy-drama series gratefully brings back the same charm that it had all throughout its first season, and in many ways, perhaps even makes you comprehend more. But what about Season 3? Will there be a third sequel? Let’s find out.
All about season 2
The second season of this Jitendra Kumar-starrer comedy-drama series was released recently on Amazon Prime and this time, apart from delivering the laughs, the show makes you think more and more, and by the end, you cannot control your tears. With the solid performances of its cast and crisp writing, Panchayat 2 is a must-watch.
The first eight episodes of Panchayat revolved around Abhishek Tripathi, a recently graduated government official assigned to the Uttar Pradesh village of Phulera. He is a Panchayat Sachiv member. Due to the severe change in pace, power outages, and different social-economic realities, the city boy found it hard to settle in the village. However, the performances of Jitendra Kumar as Abhishek Tripathi really hold the show together. The latter’s evolution from an uncomfortable man, who he even had to fight for the chair in the first season, to being part of Phulera’s own in the second season is seamless.
The ending scene and season 3
Above all, the ending scene of Panchayat 2 made the season more impressive. It is when a day before the Bhajan ceremony, and while drinking beer with his friends, Prahlad receives a call notifying him of the sudden death of his son, who was posted in Kashmir.
The whole atmosphere of the village inevitably changes, as the media and then the martyr’s body arrives for ceremonial rituals. Everyone gathers around Prahlad to pay respect to his son, as army personnel also send the young man off with gun salutes. In the end, the way the script portrayed this situation makes it an extremely emotional watch.
As the season comes to an end, netizens are eager to witness the third sequel. However, Panchayat has not been officially or publicly disclosed for season 3 by TVF or Amazon Prime Video India, but it looks like fans, as well as makers, hope the story of the small town Phulera continues.
With Panchayat’s ‘slice of life’ storyline and also the structuring of the 2nd season, it is perhaps clear that the show would return for a 3rd season. There is also a question mark if Abhishek will be transferred which would be the biggest highlight, as it might change the entire concept of the show, although that appears doubtful.
There are also panchayat elections that would take place and its ultimate result will turn out to be something important. Moreover, we still have to wait and watch whether there is any serious romance that ultimately cooks up between Rinki and Abhishek, as the man is intent on leaving the place soon and yet finds himself attracted to the woman.
“There is no pressure though many things have definitely improved in comparison to the earlier season, yet it has a few similarities as well. I think the viewers will love season two as well, owing to its accelerating situations and the intriguing storyline,” said Jitendra Kumar on the new release.
“During the first season, people were free and had time to sit and watch many series. We received loads of love then hope this time also they take out some time. We are hoping for Panchayat season three as well,” he added.
