Heavy rains have worsened the life for Bengalureas as flooded roads and waterlogged highways resulted in major traffic jams in the city on Tuesday following the rains. Several roads were flooded in Bellandur as the surrounding lake overflowed due to heavy rains. Visuals showed heavy traffic jams in several parts of the city as commuters struggled to move past the long line of vehicles.

According to officials, areas like Bellandur, Sarjapura Road, Whitefield, Outer Ring Road, and BEML Layout saw massive flooding. In these areas, traffic was also impacted and many vehicles were seen traveling through knee-deep and ankle-deep puddles at a snail’s pace.

A yellow warning
A yellow warning was issued in Bengaluru, and the India Meteorological Department predicted heavy rains in many places on Tuesday, August 30. A holiday was also announced for schools and PU colleges across the city for Tuesday. However, many commuters faced severe traffic due to waterlogging during their travel to offices.
Many netizens shared their experience of commuting on the flooded roads. Soumendra Das, a resident from Bengaluru, wrote, “Took me 45 mins to clear a 1km stretch at Bellandur.”
