Googly after googly, the former cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu has stunned the whole nation as he reads love ballads for Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan in Kartarpur corridor. The 56-year-old has time and again praised India’s western neighbor despite the rift between the two nations.

Sidhu taking Khan on a higher pedestal than India

The cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu on November 9 visited Kartarpur to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor after a special invitation given by Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan. Sidhu accepted the invitation and said, “I am thankful to the prime minister for inviting me to the historic inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor.”

Despite permitting to visit Pakistan, the government barred him from entering Pakistan through the Attari-Wagah border, sources said.

Sidhu was a part of the first batch of pilgrims of 500 devotees that reached Kartarpur through the corridor to take part in the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev. While addressing a gathering during the event, he hailed the Pakistan Prime Minister for his Pakistan’s contribution to the corridor’s construction.

Sidhu had said, “Sikandar had won the world with fear and you won the heart all over the world.”

Reads love ballads for Imran Khan

Throwing Ballads through his own writings, Sidhu praised his all-time friend Imran Khan by calling him a person who has created a history for his country Pakistan. Sidhu had eventually pitched himself as a spokesperson of 14 crore Sikhs.

He also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allowing him to visit Pakistan to see his old friend. He said, “It is the first time since separation that the boundaries have been dismantled. No person can doubt my friend Imran Khan’s contribution. I thank Modi Ji also for it.”

Criticizing the politician, BJP has claimed that Navjot Singh Sidhu has tried to present Pakistan and Khan on a higher stand than India. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra criticized Sidhu’s comments admiring Imran Khan and portraying him as the king of hearts. Sidhu had stated that Imran Khan had succeeded the world with fear and had won the heart all over the world.
