BJP leader Sambit Patra has questioned the partiality of Jharkhand Police after they reportedly took down the banner of a Fruit Shop which read “approved by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) as a ‘Hindu fruit store.”
The BJP Leader takes to Twitter
Sambit Patra used Twitter to put out his outrage. He tweeted two photographs, one of the ‘Hindu Fruit Shop’, the banner of which was removed by the police. The other photo was that of a hotel that had an ‘Arman Muslim Hotel’ poster. He included the lines “Why Partiality?” in his tweet.

The VHP is a right-wing Hindu nationalist organization that was founded in 1964 by RSS leaders MS Golwalkar and SS Apte.
Jharkhand Police responds
After the tweet went viral, Jharkand Police sought a response from the Jamshedpur Police for its actions. The department also confirmed that the Jamshedpur Police will look into the issue and resolve it at the earliest.
A few hours later, Jamshedpur Police took the poster of the hotel down and also took legal action against shopkeepers under section 107 of CRPC. It further added: “The Kadma police station is taking preventive action against the concerned shopkeepers under Section 107.”
