The Mumbai Police had last month arrested a man for uploading videos on YouTube which were allegedly spreading fake news on the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. According to Mumbai Police, the videos were found to be “defamatory” and “damaged the image” of the state government and the city police.

A case was registered against Sarvagnya last month under the Indian Penal Code Sections 500 (defamation), 501 (printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory) among others.
