Jaish Commander And A Local Militant Behind Pulwama Attack Have Been Killed By Indian Army

As per the latest news the mastermind and his associate of Thursday’s suicide car bombing at Lethpora, Pulwama, have been killed in an ongoing encounter in Pinglana area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. News reported that four army men including a Major and a civilian have also been killed in the gunfight so far and operation is still on.

The Encounter

The gunfight between the terrorists and army commenced four days after a suicide bomber attacked the convoy of Army in Pulwama district on 14th February.


Security forces who were involved in the encounter were the Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Special Operations Group (SOG) of the state police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The security forces enclosed the village following a tip-off terrorists. The encounter stopped on Monday morning, but during the search operation, it was resumed after terrorists opened fire on the security forces. In the search operation, one AK-47 & one pistol is recovered until now and stone pelting has been reported from the site of encounter

The Culprits 

The mastermind and associate of the terror attack on Pulwama are said to be associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed. They are identified as Kamran and Abdul Rasheed Ghazi. Ghazi is the Jaishe e-Mohammed commander who is also an IED expert and is known as a trusted lieutenant of Masood Azhar.

According to reports, along with Kamran and Ghazi, a local Jaish terrorist Hilal is also killed in the encounter. Official confirmation on the death of Abdul Rashid Ghazi is still awaited.


Adil Ahmed Dar – the suicide bomber who carried out the dastardly attack on 14th February was trained by Ghazi. Adil was also provided with explosives and other information related to the movement of the CRPF convoy.

Martyred Security Personnel

The martyred security personnel belonged to the 55 Rashtriya Rifles. The brave hearts have been identified as Major VS Dhoundiyal, Havaldar Sheo Ram, Sepoy Ajay Kumar, and Sepoy Hari Singh.
