Kannada viewers have been treated well consistently in 2022. It is now time for the industry to sign off on a high. Dharani Mandala Madhyadolage assembled a decent buzz because of the star cast and some catchy promotional material. The film hit the screens on December 2nd. Featuring the likes of Naveen Shankar, Aishani Shetty, and Yash Shetty, the film is directed by Sridhar Shikaripura. Here is the review of the film:
A hyperlink film!
New-age Kannada filmmakers are stretching perimeters when it comes to genres. Although we have seen some films in this genre, Dharani Mandala Madhyadolage has a fresh outlook. This is further accentuated by the interesting anthology of subjects within the framework.
The first half of the film is mainly about how the lives of a few in Bengaluru merge. The rest of the movie involves the un-knotting of the complexities. This film happens overnight and there is a seamless movement of the proceedings.
While Naveen Shankar plays a boxer, Aishani plays his love interest with a drug problem. The likes of Yash Shetty & Omkar have their own relatable stories. There is a heavy dose of violence, which adds another layer to the show. Overall, although it might feel heavy, the plot of the film is a commendable one.
A good attempt by the newbies
Naveen Shankar is just a few films old but has pulled off a memorable performance. Aishani and the others, too, have a great outing. The director does an apt job, considering the tricky script he had on hand.
The music could have been better, especially with the BGM. Nevertheless, it satisfies the vision of the director. Bengaluru is shown well and the credit must go to the DOP.
