#BoycottKapilSharmashow Trends On Twitter: Know Why

Actor-Comedian Kapil Sharma and his popular Television show ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ is being vouched for a boycott by the netizens. It gained an evening trend on Twitter late Monday that came after filmmaker Agnihotri tweeted that makers of the show refused to promote his upcoming film – ‘The Kashmir Files’.

The Controversy

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri was recently requested by a fan on Twitter to promote his upcoming film ‘The Kashmir Files’ on The Kapil Sharma Show.

Responding to the user’s tweet, Vivek expressed disappointment over not being invited by Kapil and his team and said that he is nobody to decide if he can promote the film on the show.

The director wrote, “I don’t get to decide who should be invited on @KapilSharmaK9 show. It’s his and his producers choice whom he wants to invite. As far as Bollywood is concerned, I’d say what once Mr. Bachchan was quoted saying about Gandhis: Vo raja hai hum rank.”

In another previous tweet, Vivek Agnihotri even claimed that the show refused to promote his film because it didn’t have a ‘commercial star’ in its starcast. “They refused to call us on their show because we don’t have big commercial star. #FACT,”

Netizen’s Reaction

As soon as Vivek’s tweet went viral, netizens demanded the ‘boycott of Kapil Sharma’. The comedian is getting slammed by internet users on social media for being biased towards big Bollywood stars.

Let’s take a look at what few Netizens have tweeted:

A user called out Kapil and wrote, “Kapil sharma is circus master of Bollywood. He is not serious about national issues .He is abusing and insulting poor people in the show for making money . No civilised society will allow his hypocracy .He can not understand pain of Genocide .Jai Hind .”
