Amit Shah, earlier today, announced that he has tested positive for COVID-19. The Union Home Minister also said that was getting admitted to a hospital.

The BJP leader said: “On getting the initial symptoms of coronavirus, I got the test done and the report came back positive. My health is fine, but I am being admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors. I request that all of you who have come in contact with me in the last few days, please isolate yourself and get your inquiry done.”

It has been reported that Amit Shah is admitted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurugram. Shah had been part of the cabinet meeting a few days ago, and an extensive contact tracing is likely to take place to stop a further outbreak.

Meanwhile, close to 54 thousand cases were reported in the lasted 24 hours alone, taking the total in India to more than 17 lakh cases. The country has also rolled out Unlock 3, although establishments such as schools, colleges, theaters, and bars have still been prohibited to open.
