A former Bengaluru resident in the United States paid tribute to his childhood bus driver and bus in Bengaluru by using that bus’s registration number for his Tesla car in the United States.
A wonderful tribute
Nostalgia is a strong emotion that we all experience. Some find it pleasing, while others find it heartbreaking. Here’s an example for those in the first type that will melt your heart. A Bengaluru NRI chose the BMTC (Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation) bus number for his Tesla in the USA. The number he went for is KA1F232, which was the registration number given to his childhood bus KA – 01 F – 232. His Tesla is red too, matching the bus’ paint scheme in 1992.
Dhanapal Manchenahalli, a Bengaluru NRI, also expressed gratitude to retired BMTC driver Chengappa, who drove the bus between Bengaluru’s Vidyaranyapura and Yashwantpura.
Dhanapal said that he traveled to school in 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1995 on a BMTC bus with the registration number KA01F232.
“Not just me, but many students had traveled in the F232 bus back then, and I still have a lot of memories associated with it,” he said in a video. Chengappa, the driver, is now retired, so I got the same number for my Tesla as a tribute to him. People like you who have worked tirelessly for decades inspire us, and we will pass on your stories to future generations,” he said.
Very Heart Touching….????

Twitter Reactions
When Shri Dhanapal was serving as BMTC bus driver in 1996 at that time many school children used to go in that bus. And Shri Dhanapal never used to shout at them or get angry. Among all those children who used to travel in that bus one boy is Chengappa who is now residing

It’s a good gesture but he could have done something really useful for the driver . . .

Ohhh !!! Just so so happy and surprised to see this.
First trip was at 5 am from RPC layout.
As a college student, I had to travel for survey camps to chikkabettahalli (near Vidyaranyapura) for 1 month every year.He used to wait for my arrival (even if late ) so I don’t suffer

Rather than he himself buying. Instead he could have gifted the same numbered car / bike to Shri Dhanpal. That could have made more sense

Wow , this is such a nice gesture , Happy retirement Dhanpal Sir ??

People saying he should have gifted XYZ, themselves won't bother to even give a 10rs coin to someone in need. Plus getting a number plate of HIS choice, with HIS own money, to preserve HIS memories of HIS childhood, for HIS own car; isn't there one word common here "HIS".
