Late Puneeth Rajkumar’s last film Gandhada Gudi was released in theatres on 28th October and is receiving rave reviews from the audience and critics. Puneeth’s brother Shivarajkumar is quite overwhelmed with emotions upon the release of this film.
Shivarajkumar on Gandhada Gudi
The 60-year-old felt happy that Puneeth added to the efforts made by him and their father late Kannada superstar Dr. Rajkumar to educate people about the conservation of natural resources. They made two films on the subject. Gandhada Gudi (1973) starring Rajkumar revolves around a forest officer sent to a place to put an end to sandalwood smuggling. Directed by Vijay, the film received a good response. Its sequel starring Shiva was titled Gandhada Gudi Part 2: This couldn’t live up to the expectations set by its prequel and was a disappointment at the box office.
After Puneeth Rajkumar’s last film Gandhada Gudi was released in theatres yesterday, Shivarajkumar said that this film is not the end of Appu’s journey, adding that he is always there with us.
“I don’t say Appu is not with me, he is always with me. He was a born superstar and I am a huge fan of his dance moves,” he said.
Dream project
Puneeth Rajkumar, Sandalwood’s Power Star, passed away last year following a heart attack. He, however, still remains an inspiration for his fans. Gandhada Gudi , his dream project, was released on the screens on October 28.
Meanwhile, Gandhada Gudi is a docudrama that highlights the beautiful landscape of Karnataka. It is directed by Amoghavarsha JS, best known to many for his acclaimed documentary Wild Karnataka. Gandhada Gudi features the director and Appu as they travel to an island to crack its mysteries. Its trailer was released on October 9.
PM Narendra Modi also praised the video and said he paid tribute to the late Kannada actor. Gandhada Gudi was released on October 28, a day before Puneeth’s first death anniversary.
