Potholes in Bengaluru have become a major problem. No matter how developed a city is, some parts or areas will certainly face potholes-related issues. Potholes not only hinder the route but have also become a reason for road accidents. A large number of people die in accidents due to potholes, but the authorities continue to appear to be unbothered by the rising figures.

With Bengaluru facing severe battering due to heavy rain, the situation has become worse now. Recently, concerns have been raised about the safety of citizens, especially due to poor infrastructure. Heavy showers in the past week have made Bengaluru roads difficult to maneuver, for both pedestrians and vehicle users.

With the present condition, Bengalureans are increasingly demanding that the responsible civic agency, BBMP in particular, be held accountable. However, given that engineers are reserved only in certain cases, and the penalties are small even if found guilty, this is not much of a deterrent.
