Sandalwood’s Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar’s last film is now in theatres. According to trade reports, James registered a massive opening at the box office worldwide, which is a huge milestone.

Appu aka Puneeth Rajkumar’s latest release James has received positive reviews from around the world. His previous movie Yuvarathnaa was a commercial hit. Now, James, which is the last movie that Puneeth Rajkumar performed, has got a fantastic opening at the box office.
Reportedly, the film has made close to 40 crores at the box office on its opening day. The movie has about 2500 shows while Bengaluru itself has 920 shows on day 1, creating a new record.
It is assumed that the film may create a record by the end of its theatrical run. After Puneeth Rajkumar’s unexpected demise, his fans and his family have shown massive support towards the film. Appu himself enjoys a massive fan following in Karnataka and since this is his last film, fans are flocking to theatres to watch the film.
A massive response
Puneeth Rajkumar’s James is reported said to have collected Rs 18.7 cr alone in Karnataka. James’ collections in the rest of India are likely to be around Rs 20 cr. The official figures of James opening day collections are yet to be revealed by the makers.
Sarath Kumar, Srikanth Aditya Menon, comedian Sadhu Kokila and Anu Prabhakar are seen in vital roles in James. Priya Anand is seen playing the female lead role in the movie. James is directed by Chetan Kumar and produced by Kishore Pathikonda.
James was released on over 2,500 screens in Karnataka. The tickets for most shows were sold out even before the release. Fans are keen to visit the theatres with their family members to celebrate Puneeth Rajkumar.
