Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar passed away after suffering cardiac arrest on Friday. The legendary actor was just 46 years old. His demise is a massive setback to Sandalwood and the state of Karnataka.
Puneeth Rajkumar passes away
Puneeth Rajkumar is a household name in the state. Having witnessed his rise right from his childhood, Puneeth had become like a family member for most in the state. His nature of being polite and humble made him the darling of many. His sudden passing away shocked crores across the nation.
He never charged a rupee for representing the Government
Puneeth was the best brand ambassador that the Government could hire. He had an enormous fanbase and a positive image that very few possess. In his career, Puneeth endorsed many initiatives such as the Right to Education (RTE), Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Nandini milk, and election franchise (right to vote). He had been the development ambassador for the backward Chamarajanagar district and also created awareness on Covid-19 precautions and vaccination on behalf of the government.
The Power Star never charged a single rupee for his services. IPS officer Isha Pant said, “He was always available for all government initiatives and awareness campaigns for which he never charged a single penny. For the Bengaluru City Police Twitter handle, too, he did so many awareness videos with his charismatic smile always on his face.”
Despite having a massive fanbase, Puneeth never got into politics. Congress leader DK Shivakumar said that they tried luring Puneeth into politics but he never showed interest. He always said that as actors, “art” was on which he must focus. Karnataka has truly lost a gem on Friday.
