Amid the continuing face-off between actor Kangana Ranaut and Shiv Sena, MP Sanjay Raut on Monday alleged that some with malicious intent are spreading misinformation that the party insulted women.
In a veiled attack on actor Kangana Ranaut, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut posted a photo of a statement on Twitter on Monday in which he claimed that attempts are being made to defame the party.
“Shiv Sena follows the ideology of great Hindutva icons Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and the Great Maharana Pratap. They have taught us to respect women. But some malicious intent are spreading misinformation that Shiv Sena has insulted women,” Sanjay Raut said in a statement. “But one should not forget the fact that those making these allegations have themselves insulted Mumbai and our deity Mumba Devi,” Sanjay Raut wrote.
Saying the Shiv Sena will continue to fight for the pride of women, Sanjay Raut said, “This is what our great Shiv Sena supremo has taught us.”

This came a day after he Kangana Ranaut slammed Sanjay Raut for “abusive” remarks.
Kangana Ranaut posted a video on Twitter with caption “Sanjay Ji, I have full freedom of expression, I have the freedom to go anywhere in my country. I am free”. “Sanjay Raut Shiv Sena leader has given me an open threat and asked me not to come back to Mumbai after Aazadi graffitis in Mumbai streets and now open threats, why Mumbai is feeling like Pakistan occupied Kashmir (sic)?” Kangana Ranaut said in a tweet.
Kangana Ranaut on Sunday said, “You abused me. You are a political leader, you must be very well aware that, in this country, how many girls are being raped and exploited every hour”.

“Acid is thrown on them, their bodies are cut, they are abused at their workplaces, their own husbands assault them. Do you know who is responsible for all of this? It is this mentality of yours that you have brazenly displayed in front of the entire society,” Kangana Ranaut said.
“Daughters of this country will not forgive you, Sanjay Ji,” the actor said.
The bitter spat between Kangana Ranaut and Sanjay Raut begun when the Sena MP Sanjay slammed Kangana in Shiv Sena’s mouthpiece Saamana and wrote that the Ranaut’s ‘treachery’ was shameful, considering that she criticises the Mumbai Police despite making a living in the city. “We kindly request her not to come to Mumbai. This is nothing but an insult to Mumbai police. The Home Ministry should take action over it,” Sanjay had written.
