Earlier today, an Air India flight coming from Dubai crash-landed at the Calicut Airport in Kerala. The incident occurred at around 7:40 pm, and as per ANI, around 174 passengers were on board. There are also conflicting reports which suggest that the plan was carrying 191 passengers.
No confirmed news of casualties as yet
As per preliminary reports, the flight skidded off the runway and crashed into a nearby valley. From the visuals, it can be seen that the fuselage of the aircraft was broken into two. However, as per the statements so far, no fire has been reported from the incident. It is said that rescue operations are already underway. No news of casualties has been reported as of now.
ANI has reported that 6 crew members were on board. The crew included 2 pilots. The flight was part of the Vande Bharat Mission that was operating flights to transport stranded Indians from other countries back to the country.
