Suspected ‘Spy Pigeon’ Carrying Coded Message From Pakistan Caught Along Border In J&K

A pigeon, likely to be trained for spying by Pakistan, was reportedly captured by villagers of the Kathua District in Jammu & Kashmir on Monday. The district is located along the International Border in J&K.

The pigeon was captured by residents of Manyari village in the Hiranagar sector soon after it flew into this side from Pakistan. It is said that a ring was attached to the pigeon with some numbers on it.

Senior Superintendent of Police of Kathua Shailendra Mishra said: “The villagers handed over the pigeon (to the local police station) yesterday. A ring was seen attached to one of its legs with some numbers on it and a probe is on.” The officials have also added that the concerned security officials are working towards deciphering the coded message on the bird.
