In the past 24 hours, nine terrorists were killed by the Indian Army in two separate operations carried out in the region of Jammu and Kashmir. In the operation, one soldier was also martyred, officials said on Sunday.
In the operation, four terrorists were killed in the Batapura region of South Kashmir’s Kulgam on Saturday. On Sunday, five more were neutralized along the line of control in the Keran sector in Kupwara. Colonel Rajesh Kalia, the spokesperson of the army said,
“Four terrorists who were involved in the killing of innocent civilians were eliminated at the Batapura area of south Kashmir on April 4.”
According to the army, the alert troops braving inclement weather and hostile terrain eliminated five terrorists in the operation that is still underway in the Keran sector. The five terrorists are believed to be a part of group infiltrators who might have recently sneaked into the valley. Taking advantage of the bad weather across the LoC, they were attempting to infiltrate when the army killed them.
The news agency ANI put out a tweet,

One Jawan Martyred
Unfortunately, in the operation, a soldier of the Indian army was martyred and two others were critically injured. Evacuation of injured is been made difficult because of the weather. The Colonel further said,
“In this operation, one soldier has been martyred and two more are critically injured. Evacuation of the injured is hampered due to heavy snow and rough terrain conditions”.
The mission is still underway and the Army is looking for other militants. The army briefed the media on Sunday morning conveying the news about the operation. In a first of its kind, the army has deployed its medical team to fight a pandemic. A medical team from the Army was deployed at Narela Quarantine camp on Friday where coronavirus patients from the Tablighi Jamaat event are stationed.
