The Young Man Running Home At The Midnight, Offered Help To Join The Indian Army

A young man, whose video went viral on social media for running home from work, is now being helped to join the Indian Army.

Army Aspirant

The viral video was shot by filmmaker Vinod Kapri, who offered a ride to the 19-year-old Pradeep Mehra as he ran outside his car. However, Mehra turned down the offer and said he ran around 10km every night to keep himself ready to join the Indian Army.

The young man’s dedication touched people’s hearts. Netizens were surprised to see how Pradeep runs every day from work to home just because it’s the only time he gets to practice for Army entrance.

Offer in the Army

The army aspirant received help from everywhere. And now, Pradeep is offered help by Lt. Gen Satish Dua. The latter has reached out to his counterparts to help the 19-year-old with the entrance. In a tweet, Lt. Dua said that he has spoken to Lt. Gen Rana Kalita, Colonel of Kumaon Regiment about the same.

Dua said: “I spoke to Army officers who are responsible for recruitment around his hometown Almora to help him. Kids like him have the passion and need a small motivation towards the right direction.”

Although, the general wrote that Pradeep still has to go through the selection process.

Talking about his popularity, the boy identified as Pradeep Mehra from Almora in Uttarakhand, said, “I don’t want it to seem that I am flying too high. Afraid he might get distracted from his goal, he added. “If they give me too much fame, I won’t be able to focus on my goal. Hence I don’t want to do too many interviews”.
