Today, on 28th December the Congress party celebrates 135th foundation day with a new tag line ‘Save Constitution-Save India’. Rejoicing the event, the party lead by Sonia Gandhi said India has always come first for it through the ages and all the sacrifices stand for the betterment of the nation.

Party President Sonia Gandhi hoisted the party’s flag at its headquarters in New Delhi. The event also witnessed former prime minister Manmohan Singh, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi, senior Congress leaders A K Antony, Motilal Vohra, and Anand Sharma. After the flag hoist ceremony, Sonia Gandhi and Singh distributed sweets among children present at the event.

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter and recognized the selfless contribution of millions of Congress workers made through the ages.

Save Constitution-Save India
The party will conduct a ‘Save Constitution, Save India March’ rally on the foundation day in the capitals of all the states of the country in protest against the Civil Amendment Act (CAA). Congress president Sonia Gandhi will visit events in Delhi, former party president Rahul Gandhi in Assam and party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Uttar Pradesh.
The Guwahati rally lead by Rahul Gandhi will start at 11 AM from the Khanapara veterinary college playground. The 49-year-old will also meet the family members of two dead protesters in Assam, both minors who were wrongly shot by police bullets.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi who was missing in the ceremony held in New Delhi will be seen in Lucknow. She will be introduced as the chief guest in special programs organized on Foundation Day. This event will be held at the party office in Lucknow. Later, she will meet the advisors and discuss the party’s strategy.
