Indian Army on Saturday recruited 404 freshly-trained youths from the Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) at a passing-out-parade. The parade was studied by the General Officer Commanding of Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, Lt Gen K.J.S. Dhillon.
400 plus trained soldiers from J&K
Over 404 freshly-trained youths from Jammu and Kashmir were recruited into the Army on Saturday at a passing-out-parade. The parade was the first such event in newly-consecrated UT of J&K since the revocation of Article 370of the constitution.
The chosen soldiers belonged from various areas of Jammu and Kashmir, the parade was organized at the regimental center of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) at Rangreth in the outskirts of the city here, an Army official said.
A tight slap to the liberals
The recruits have been inducted into the force after finishing an extensive and exhaustive year-long preparation. Their selection and the parade was attended by General Officer Commanding (GoC) of the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, Lt Gen KJS Dhillon along with hundreds of parents and relatives of the soldiers.
Following, the army commander saluted Ilyas Ahmad, an honorary Captain of the JAKLI who has retired from the service but remains to work for the prosperity of the people.
“404 young soldiers from Jammu and Kashmir were recruited into the Army’s Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) regiment after completing one-year strenuous training,” an official said.
