Finally, there is some good news for techies. The much-awaited train service from Baiyapanahalli and Whitefield was inaugurated by Union Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu on Friday via video conference from Delhi.
DEMU (The Diesel Electric Multiple Unit) trains will leave Baiyapanahalli at 8:25 am and arrive at Whitefield at 8:50 am. This is considered to be a peak hour as office goers hit the road that creates a room for traffic rush in K.R Puram and Outer ring road. If you take this train then you can beat the early morning traffic and reach your destination in just 25 minutes. The train will stop at K.R Puram and Hoodi thus helping you to cover 15km in less than 30 minutes. In the evening, it will leave Whitefield at 6:15 pm and reach Baiyapanahalli at 6:40 pm. With eight coaches, this DEMU can accommodate as many as 2142 passengers during rush hours.
Commuters Way made easy
DEMU is the second exclusive short-distance train and the line hosts 15 trains for the service of local commuters. We have five trains between 7 a.m to 10 a.m from K.S.R Bengaluru and six trains departing Whitefield between 4 p.m and 7 p.m. As the new train connects from Whitefield to Baiyapanahalli, we have metro connecting to all North and South Bangalore, commuters way have become easier and traffic-free.

The train will run on all days of the week except Sunday. It is expected that this will reduce congestion on old madras road if commuters make use of this public transport. Let us make use of this facility and help the Government to curb the problems of the city.
