2022 has turned out to be one of the worst years for Bollywood that we have ever witnessed. In terms of the BO collection, this year proved to be somewhat of a dry spell for the Hindi film industry. No matter how big the celebrity was, so-called bigwigs failed to deliver hits this year including some South Indian films.
Moreover, many films which were considered a certified crowd-puller turned out to be complete disasters at the box office. Several films opened to critical praise and even received great word-of-the-mouth but still tanked at the box office.

1) Radhe Shyam
Nobody expected a movie from Prabhas who is a global star after Baahubali became such a disaster.
2) Samrat Prithivaj
Led by Akshay Kumar, the film was one of the most anticipated movies of 2022. Unfortunately, it failed to grab the audience’s attention.
3) Beast
After Master, everybody had high hopes for Thalapathy Vijay’s next, and everyone thought Beast was a sure shot hit but it failed to perform.
4) Acharya
After RRR, Ram Charan was again back on the big screens with high hopes alongside Telugu star Chiranjeevi. Unfortunately, it failed to grab the audience’s attention.
5) Laal Singh Chaddha
This Aamir Khan-Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer was one of the most anticipated movies of 2022. Unfortunately, the film couldn’t recreate the magic of ‘Forrest Gump’
6) Liger
Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday’s pan-Indian film Liger tanked at the box office miserably. Many shows of the film were canceled after a steep drop in ticket sales.
7) Bachchan Pandey
Bachchan Pandey was another Akshay Kumar starrer that failed to perform at the box office this year.
8) Thank You
Starring Naga Chaitanya, the film collected Rs 9 crores in India and Rs 12.25 crores worldwide against the production budget of Rs 40 crores.
9) Vikram Vedha
Even with the likes of Hrithik Roshan, the Hindi version of Vikram Vedha tanked at the Box Office. Upon its release, the movie received average ratings.
10) Dhaakad
Dhaakad’ proved to be the most low-grade film of the year. This action thriller starring Kangana Ranaut had all the so-called ingredients of a Bollywood blockbuster – guns, action sequences, and bombshells wielding guns. But the movie bombed at the box office.
11) Shamshera
Shamshera literally had everything to make it a Box Office success. It had Ranbir Kapoor in the lead, the movie was backed by Yash Raj Films, and it was also helmed by Karan Malhotra. But, it failed to grab the audience’s attention.
12) Jayeshbhai Jordaar
Bollywood’s Ranveer Singh who was giving hit after hit before his last movie 83′ came with a movie with a social message and the trailer received immense love as well but still tanked at the box office.
