Wanted Islamic preacher Dr Zakir Naik is allegedly funding a new terror alliance to launch attacks in India around January 26 next year, says an intel report from Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW). The report further claims that members of Popular Front of India (PFI) are conspiring with some Rohingyas to carry out the attacks in multiple Indian cities.
According to R&AW intel note accessed by Times Now, PFI elements with the support of some Rohingyas are conspiring to launch terror attacks/blasts in India before January 26, 2021. Places that are likely to be targeted by them are Delhi, Ayodhya, Bodhgaya, Srinagar, Chandigarh and a major city in West Bengal.
Input further reveals that a Malaysia-based Rohingya group is providing financial support for the same. The estimated expenditure of around USD 2,00,000 for the above is being mobilised by Dr Zakir Naik and one Mohd Naseer, a Malaysia-based Rohingya leader. A Chennai-based operative is said to be involved in receiving the said funds from abroad.

The attacks could be executed by women trained in Myanmar. They are likely to enter India from Nepal or Bangladesh, said the R&AW in its report.
Intelligence sources said that sleuths were trying to figure out if a Rohingya militant group which came under the scanner last year for raising funds for Rohingya refugees in Malaysia was involved in the current set of transfers.
Naik is wanted by Indian authorities since 2016 on charges of money laundering and inciting extremism through hate speeches.
