The World celebrates the Fifth International yoga day today. Ministers, celebrities, students and army personnel all over the country are performing yoga to create health awareness all around the world. On an auspicious occasion, Prime minister Narendra Modi lead the celebration at the Prabhat Tara ground in Ranchi, Jharkhand with up to 30,000 people participating.
Modi addressed 30,000 people in Ranchi at Yoga day
Amid tight security in Ranchi, PM Modi took part in the event including Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das and several top government officials. PM said he wants to take yoga from cities to the village of the country, make it accessible to all. This year, the International Yoga Day theme is “Yoga for Heart Care”, PM Modi said today. All Indians across the world have been asked to celebrate the International Day of Yoga in a grand manner.
“I urge you all to embrace Yoga and make it an integral part of your daily routine. Yoga is ancient and modern. It is constant and evolving,” PM Modi addressed the crowd. A video message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been sent to all embassies for screening at the beginning of the yoga day celebrations.

The entire world celebrates the yoga day
The newly appointed Home minister Amit Shah and including Defense minister Rajnath Singh was seen at an event of a morning yoga session at Rajpath. JP Nadda Bharatiya Janata Party working president along with other party leaders and workers performed yoga, at a park opposite the headquarters of the BJP on Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Marg in the national capital.

Lakhs of people celebrated Yoga day in Maharastra, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took part in an event guided by yoga Guru Baba Ramdev in Nanded with over 100,000 people taking part to attain a healthy life.

Uttar Prades Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also joined the celebration with the main program at the Raj Bhawan in Lucknow. Including CM, Governor Ram Naik and BJP state vice-president Vidyasagar Sonkar also participated in the event held in the state capital.

Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra also guided a yoga event in Mumbai and said it was the secret behind her youthfulness and good health always.

Thousands of Indian Navy sailors, staffers and their families performed yoga in the naval base here and onboard the INS Viraat. Including Border Security Force’s equestrian team who also performed yoga on horsebacks at the BSF camp in Gurugram.

International Yoga day was first initiated by PM Narendra Modi during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly 5years ago on September 27, 2014. Recognizing Yoga’s universal appeal and its health benefits, on 11 December 2014, the United Nations announced 21 June as the International Day of Yoga.
