Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, in a series of tweets on Saturday, backed Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s decision to make a film city in Uttar Pradesh. The actress, in her latest tweets, claimed that while people perceive the Hindi film industry to be at the top, it’s the Telugu film industry that has ascended to the top position.
“People’s perception that top film industry in India is Hindi film Industry is wrong. Telugu film industry has ascended itself to the top position and now catering films to pan India in multiple languages, many hindi films being shot in Ramoji Hydrabad,” wrote the actress.
Films have an ability to bring the entire nation together but @PMOIndia let’s first please bring these many industries together who have individual identities but not a collective identity please join them together like Akhand Bharat and we will make it number one in the world ? https://t.co/Ut2axQG1OR

In the following tweet, the actress applauded the announcement by the UP CM and said that we need many ‘reforms’ in the industry and added that there needs to be one collective industry called ‘Indian film industry’. The actress said this is the advantage that Hollywood has over many separate film industries in the country.
She further said that the best of dubbed regional films don’t get a pan-India release, but dubbed Hollywood films get mainstream release calling it ‘alarming’. “Reason is the atrocious quality of most Hindi films and their monopoly over theatre screens also media created aspirational imagine for Hollywood films,” said the actress.

Ever since Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut mentioned in one her tweets that about 99 per cent of people from the film industry consume drugs, it has created a furor among celebs and netizens alike. Multiple debates arising on why Bollywood is the only industry that is being targetted for drugs amid others, have been cropping up. The topic on the usage of drugs gained momentum after Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakroborty’s name cropped up for the same issue in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.
