Vikrant Rona 2 possible?
The biggie receiving positive reviews, and with most critics praising the mass hero’s performance, Anup Bhandari could come up with a sequel, probably bringing the concept of the Rangitaranga Universe into reality.
Earlier while speaking to an online news portal, Anup had explained that Vikrant Rona is a different story in the Rangitaranga cinematic universe. The challenge, he said, was in telling a new story within familiar speculation, with the idea being offering the universe on a larger scale with new characters.
The director, in fact, saw the comments on VR and about the similarities as a positive sign and that audiences today are expecting more such concepts. The filmmaker says that he’s got several messages from audiences appreciating how he’s brought such concepts into the big screens and wants him to do more.
“Vikrant Rona is not Rangitaranga part 2. But the story does revolve around the Rangitaranga universe. Initially, for me, it was all about bringing this story inside the Rangitaranga universe. I decided to bring a new story and make it on a large scale,” he said.
Kichcha Sudeep, widely regarded as one of Kannada cinema’s biggest names also hinted at the possibility of transforming Vikrant Rona into a franchise.
Speaking to Pinkvilla the actor said that he doesn’t want to make a sequel to Vikrant Rona just “for some money”. But the 48-year-old actor also added that Vikrant Rona 2 will happen only if director Anup Bhandari comes up with an extraordinary script that excites him.
“A franchise is not a one-way thing. The audience has to like the first part. I can’t prematurely discuss part two. But more importantly, I am not someone who will be excited about part two if part one works. I would want to move on to another film and not oscillate around the same plot. If part two is decided before the success of the first part, I will be excited by the idea,” added the actor.
Vikrant Rona has managed to show a larger-than-life experience with cinematography, visuals, action, and background music. Directed by Anup Bhandari, the suspense thriller further stars Jacqueline Fernandez as the female lead, whereas Ravishankar Gowda, Nirup Bhandari, Madhusudan Rao, and Vasuki Vaibhav in pivotal roles, along with others.
This pan-world 3D film did not just release in Indian languages but also in foreign languages including Arabic, German, Russian, Mandarin, English, etc.
Meanwhile, Sudeep will be next seen as Bigg Boss Kannada OTT host. The reality show will premiere on Voot on August 6. He will also be seen in a key role in the Upendra-led period gangster drama Kabzaa.
