Vikas Dubey Encounter: Prashant Bhushan Questions UP Govt, Tajinder Bagga Says ‘PIL Daal Le’

The dreaded gangster Vikas Dubey who was arrested yesterday by the Uttar Pradesh police in connection with killing 8 policemen was killed in an encounter on Friday morning.

Supreme Court advocate Prashant Bhushan reacted to the encounter and questioned the UP government. He wrote,

“Vikas Dubey killed 8 UP police & escaped. He roamed 4 states in the next 5 days, then surrendered publicly in Ujjain temple to avoid being ‘encounter’. After UP police got hold of him, their car carrying him overturns & he is ‘encountered’! So he doesn’t reveal nexus with top politicos.”

Responding to Prashant Bhushan, Delhi BJP leader Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga wrote,

“PIL daal le, tera to Dhandha hai ye (File A PIL. It’s your job.)”

Vikas Dubey Encountered By UP Police

As per the police, the vehicle that was escorting Vikas Dubey to Uttar Pradesh was overturned on a highway early in the morning. Apparently, he tried to escape. He was arrested by the police from Madhya Pradesh’s Ujjain on Thursday morning from a Mahakal temple. The police said,

“Vikas Dubey attempted to flee by snatching pistol of the injured policemen after a car overturned. The police tried to make him surrender, during which he fired at the policemen. He was injured in retaliatory firing by police. He was later rushed to the hospital.”

Earlier yesterday, two gangsters who were working closely with Vikas Dubey were shot dead by the Uttar Pradesh police in two separate encounters. One of them was Prabhat Mishra who was also called Kartikeya was arrested by the Special Task Force. He was being brought to Kanpur. The Special Task Force official said,

“Our vehicle was in the Panki area in Kanpur when it developed a snag. As the vehicle was being repaired, Prabhat Mishra tried to snatch the pistol of an inspector and opened fire at the STF team. He was shot dead in retaliatory firing.”

At least 8 police officers of Uttar Pradesh Police were killed in an encounter with the criminals in Kanpur on Friday. A superintendent of police was also killed in the incident.
