In a piece of positive news for today, a Member of Parliament (MP) from Madhya Pradesh, Sri Janardan Mishra has taken upon himself the task to stitch cloth masks and distribute among the poor. This an inspiring move, considering many of his counterparts across the country have been far behind in catering to the requests of the citizens.
A two-time MP from BJP
Sri Janardhan Mishra won the general elections in both 2014 and 2019, as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the constituency of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh. The 63-year-old is also a district president of his party.
Scarcity of Masks
While the arrangement has been made to provide masks to the medical professionals of the country, the protective gear has been far from the reach of the poor people of India. The exorbitant prices, on one hand, masks are also in short supply in many cities across the country.
At this point, any contributions to help the poor protect themselves from the deadly virus is a commendable measure. Sri Janardhan Mishra has done his bit to resolve this issue.
The MP has stitched several masks on his own and distributed among the poor citizens of his constituency and around. It is also revealed that rather than visiting outside necessarily during the lockdown, Sri Janardan has said to have utilized his sewing machine at home to produce the masks.
PM Narendra Modi, on hearing the news, has appreciated the efforts of his party colleague.
