The death of the Sushant Singh Rajput has paved way for the debate around mental illness and the ruthlessness of the Hindi Film Industry. While celebrities, filmmakers, and actors from the film industry call for introspection, the social media users have decided that it was Bollywood that killed the actor.
Success in Bollywood has always been temporary. Many of them tasted success and yet had difficulties in holding on to it. Here are some of the celebrities who were famous once and couldn’t hold on to fame.
Vivek Oberoi
Vivek Oberoi had once a string of success that had put him on the pedestal. He was also regarded as the star who would soon become a superstar. He even had a distinct range in films with Omkara and Saathiya. Due to personal controversies, Vivek’s stardom saw a steep decrease. A promising career was hit with roadblocks.
Juhi Chawla
The actress who ruled in the 90s with films like Darr and Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi soon saw stardom slip away after she got married. Chawla experienced fame like no other actor but also saw the other side like no other actor.
Abhay Deol
Even though he was from a film family, Abhay Deol was regarded as the poster boy of Indie cinema in the Hindi film industry. After a purple patch, the actor virtually disappeared from the industry. When asked about it, he said the industry doesn’t make films he want to be part of.

At one time, Dia Mirza was the dreamgirl of every teenager. Her first film Rehna Hai Tere Dil Me still attracts traction on Television. Since then Dia was not seen in many successful films. She once had said stardom had made her pretentious.
Bobby Deol
Son of a superstar father and a superstar brother, Bobby Deol became an overnight sensation with his first film Barsaat. He gave few hits in the 90s but soon saw the stardom fading away. He even revealed that he had turned alcoholic.
Aftab Shivdasani
He won the most promising actor award for his debut film Mast which became an instant hit. Like his rise, the fall of his stardom too was quick. He was last prominently seen in Great Grand Masti 4 years back.
Parveen Babi
A heartthrob of the 70s, Parveen Babi made her presence felt every time she appeared on the screen. Apparently, due to her mental health, her fame started deteriorating and that ended with her tragic suicide.
Fardeen Khan
Touted as the next big thing in the industry, Fardeen Khan had some of the biggest hits in his kitty. A string of flops and the actor disappeared into the void.
