Sonu Sood Still Remains In Everyone’s Heart
Kolkata’s Kestopur Prafulla Kanan Durga Puja Committee has dedicated this year’s theme to the fishermen who were devastated by floods in the Sundarban village area. Actor Sonu Sood, who helped the fishermen, was also included in the theme. Sunderban village area is dominated by a fishermen’s population and this year it was ravaged by Cyclone Yaas as well. Due to this, one whole village was completely destroyed. The fishermen have to go through this tragedy on a yearly basis.
So, this year, the Prafulla Kanan Puja Committee tried to salvage the sorrows of the fishermen by including a whole village in the celebrations. They also made statues of the fishermen carrying the fish nets with them. Moreover, a life-sized statue of Sonu Sood has been erected as he helped out the flood victims a lot.
Last Year The Theme Was, “Sonu The Covid Rescuer”
Sonu Sood was a part of the theme last year as well as he assisted a lot during the Covid-19 crisis. This time, Sood’s part has been depicted in the same manner but just from the fisherman’s angle. Not just Sunderban or covid related activities, Sonu has been on this charity since a very long time, however he caught the spotlight while he reinstated transportation for stranded workers back to their homes while Covis was at the peak in 2020.
