As the race to develop the COVID-19 vaccine intensifies, the Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of the world’s first coronavirus vaccine.
Reiterating that this is the world’s first coronavirus vaccine, Russian President proudly announced that Russia has been successful in the mission. The final stages of the vaccine to test the safety and efficacy continue, the mass inoculation of the vaccine has started already. He also said that the vaccine would work quite effectively and will form a stable immunity against the novel coronavirus. In a televised video conference, Putin said,
“This morning, for the first time in the world, a vaccine against the new coronavirus was registered. I know that it works quite effectively, forms strong immunity, and I repeat, it has passed all the needed checks.”
He also said that he made sure that the vaccine trials underwent necessary tests and protocols. He further added that one of his daughters has already received a shot of the vaccine and is completely feeling well. The president has also ensured funding for flu and coronavirus vaccinations and also noted that at least 60 percent of Russians need to be vaccinated against flu.
Mass Vaccination To Begin In The Month Of October
Earlier last month, the health minister of Russia, Murashko had said that the mass vaccinations for Russians might begin by the month of October. He also said that the risk groups and the medical workers will be vaccinated first.
President Putin also thanked everyone who had worked in developing the vaccine and also described the progress it as a very important step for the world. He also hopes that the research organization of the country is looking to start mass production of the newly developed vaccine for the novel coronavirus.
