RCB Player’s Reaction To KGF Chapter 2 Will Only Add To It’s Monstrous Run On BO

KGF: Chapter 2, starred by Yash and Sanjay Dutt, has been a phenomenal success at the box office ever since its release on April 14. And the multi-lingual Indian film tying up with the biggest sports franchise RCB, it’s just a cherry on the cake.

Reason for KGF’s success

There is no doubt that KGF Chapter 2 has impacted the box office like a tsunami and entertained the audience with its storyline, dialogue, performances, direction, and screenplay. The Yash starred film’s Hindi version went past yet another huge milestone, that of 255 crores. Also, within just a week of its release, KGF Chapter 2 has maintained its consistency in breaking the records and zoomed past Rs 700 crore at the worldwide box office.

It’s not like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam industries haven’t thrived in the north before. The Hindi version of 2.0 earned Rs 190 crore while that of Saaho earned Rs 143 crore. The only aspect about these films was that both these films had a star face like Rajinikanth and Prabhas respectively and they were already popular up north. Similarly, RRR and Baahubali 2 had the force of Rajamouli’s brand name. Meanwhile, Prashanth Neel’s KGF 2 had neither of these.

Partnering with a sports brand

To an extent, the Yash starrer did benefit from being a sequel and the presence of Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon. But let’s face it, the Hombale Films had done a tremendous job with the film’s huge marketing campaign, especially partnering with the RCB franchise.

Hombale Films, makers of the ‘KGF’ franchise, had earlier joined hands with the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) to collaborate on sports and film entertainment. The partnership celebrates the combination of the two most loved entities of Bengaluru, to give fans a high voltage thrill along with a roller coaster of emotions and energy.

The film was also celebrated at RCB bio bubble. The official Twitter handle of Royal Challengers Of Bangalore announced that a special screening of the film was held on April 18. Later, the players also reacted to the special screening and praised the film for its storyline.

In another development, KGF 2’s Adheera i.e Sanjay Dutt and Raveena Tandon, and the rest of the KGF 2 team watched RCB’s game against Lucknow Super Giants on Tuesday from the stands of the DY Patil Stadium.

The marketing strategy of the KGF franchise has resulted in massive success at the Box Office. After a spectacular opening, the movie- the sequel to a dazzling 2018 hit about a gangster who battles to take over a gold mine – looks set to become one of India’s biggest box-office hits. Based on this storm of success and pushed by a major social media reaction, ‘KGF 2’ seems to have added to Yash’s status as a Pan-India star.
